CRM REVIEW:

Escaping from her arranged marriage Lady Sydney Hathwell flees to her uncle’s ranch. Forsaken ranch doesn’t welcome women except the cook. Sydney does what any logical maiden in distress would do and becomes a gentleman – Lord Sydney Hathwell.

“Big Tim” Creighton is going to shape “Lord Fancy Pants” into a decent man if it kills him, and it might. The kid doesn’t have an ounce of muscle on his body, he wears his emotions on the outside, and his appetite is sorely lacking.

This charade might kill her before she reaches her eighteenth birthday. “Big Tim” works her harder than any of the other cowpokes. But as he teaches and she learns, they become good friends.

When the unraveling of her secret is uncovered, all that she has worked for in pants will have to be achieved once more in petticoats.

The characters and dialogue are strong. I enjoyed the story line – it’s very unique. Fancy Pants is a charming and funny read. Cathy Marie Hake weaves a deep spiritual journey in as well. I did think it was tad bit hard to read.

Other things of special note:SPOILER! Sydney gets drunk. She makes friends with the soiled doves at the bar. One morning she wakes up in the bunkhouse with all the cowpokes while their dressing for the day- not detailed! While Sydney is dressed as a man, Tim ask her if she is a homosexual.
