Forget Me Not

By Vicki Henze

422057: Forget Me Not, Crossroads Crisis Center Series #1Forget Me Not, Crossroads Crisis Center Series #1
By Vicki Hinze / Random House, Inc

A mysterious incident leaves Susan Brandt dead---and her husband, Ben, devastated. Three years later, a similar accident occurs. The victim looks exactly like his late wife and carries Susan's name on a crisis center's card---but this woman survives. When somebody wants her dead, will Ben risk his life and his heart to save her? 352 pages, softcover from Multnomah.

CRM RATING:M
Explain: The murders were… well, murders. Hinze also included a child abuse background in one of her characters.

SPIRITUAL RATING: 4
Explain: Ben says that he doesn’t believe in God anymore. Susan witnesses to him.

CRM REVIEW:

Benjamin Brandt has lost count of the number of scams he has come across since the death of his family…

Susan –at least, that’s who she thinks she is- doesn’t have the least idea why she had a business card of the Crossroads or Susan Brandt’s cross in her possession. Someone is after her. Or is the real pursuit for Ben?

Good thing that God is a refuge. They’ve been tossed together for a reason. It might be to solve the crime. Susan hopes it’s to bring Ben back to the Lord. Could there be more for them at the end of this case than surviving?

Hinze had a perfect beginning. She twisted mystery into the first chapter by not letting the main character’s name slip. Good plot.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND INSIDE:

Romance between a man and woman - Yes

Fondling – No

Felt this book properly represented a Biblical world view – Yes

I would recommend this book to a Christian audience – Yes

Felt arousal when reading certain scenes – No

Other things of special note: Ben’s wife and son were murdered. Susan is assaulted but not sexually. Murder is abundant in this book. There is a flashback of child abuse – locked in a closet for days at a time.
