Review:
Love Turns the Tide tells the story of a twenty-six-year-old feature writer, Cammie O’Shea. When she moves to Destin, Florida, to start a new job, she’s concerned about meeting her new boss, editor of The Sun Dial newspaper. But it’s Vic Deleona, a wealthy developer she has to interview to help get the paper off to a good start, that complicates her life.
She arrives one week early to speak with him only to have him cancel their meeting, because he has to leave to deal with a situation, which has angered him. However, when he sees Cammie the next time, he goes out of his way to accommodate her. Then, he makes more appointments that she must keep to finish the article about him. He’s trying to get to know her better. But, she’s so hurt and upset from being deceived by her fiance, who broke her heart right before she moved, she doesn’t want to date anyone.
However, when her new friend’s condo is broken into and her unit is vandalized, Vic comes to their rescue. Not only is he kind to her friend, but he sticks by Cammie, even taking her to church. And that’s important to Cammie. Later he launches his own investigation into the mysterious crimes, letting Cammie come with him. When they catch the villain, he turns out to be an unfortunate person who needs help.
Love Turns the Tide shows two people falling in love. When Cammie needs God most with her life spinning out of control, for some reason she doesn’t understand she feels more estranged from him than she ever has. But, she continues to read the Bible and turn to him for strength and guidance. By trusting in God she finds more happiness than she imagined.
