Stand-In Groom, by Kaye Dacus
by Linda Yezak
(Nacogdoches, Texas)
The wedding planner falls in love with the groom . . . oops.
But when Anne Hawthorne finds out British citizen George Laurence isn't the groom, she doesn't feel relieved. She feels betrayed: Betrayed by the cousin she loves like a brother. Betrayed by the man she's already begun daydreaming about.
Just when she's getting over that stinging betrayal, she discovers one that slaps her across the face. The true identity of the groom.
The vivid red handprint on her cheek disappears just in time for another betrayal to kick her in the heart. Did she really hear her true love say he would marry her just to stay in the country?
Kaye's novel is a "sweet" romance, which makes her books appropriate for any sensitivity and any age, although I don't know that anyone under twenty would be interested since the main characters are in their thirties. But if you like sweet romances, you'll love this one.
